About Merril
Merril and her family have called the NWT home since the late 1980s. She has worked in education in Yellowknife for over 25 years, having acted as a teacher, a school administrator and a Student Support Coordinator.
Merril believes that all children should have the right to an education that accommodates for their personal learning needs.
A lifelong learner, Merril has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Saskatchewan (1980), and a B.Ed. (AD) in English and Social Studies from the University of Regina (1990). Merril went on to receive her M.Ed. in Educational Administration from the University of Alberta (1995) and a GDRE from Newman College (2004). Most recently, she received her M.Ed. in Applied Psychology from the University of Calgary (2014).
Since completing her degree in Psychology, Merril has taken a number of classes in neuro-psychology with Dr. Daniel Miller.
Merril is a licensed psychologist in the Northwest Territories.
